Mastodon is great! Way better than X/Twitter, Facebook, BlueSky, Instagramm. It is super fun to choose an instance. I can recommend digitalcourage.social. Or pick a regional one or one with a topic like boardgames or go with mastodon.social. Migrating from one instance to another is easy. For Mastodon, there are many different apps, they are all great. I like Tusky because it is simple and works great on my old Fairphone 2. If you are more into photos, then pixelfed is something for you.

Quite useful, in spite of not being exactly like the web site. Well, that's a feature, really -- the experience is optimized for the small screen. (I can use the web browser on the phone if I really want an exact web browser experience.)
